Cookies need to wear seatbelts

I had a fortune cookie in my purse that got crushed.  Evie found it and requested to eat it, so I obliged.

As she was eating it, she said "Cookie mei you bang an chuan dai jiu puo puo le" (The cookie didn't wear a seat belt so now it's broken).

Duck, Are you Hungry?

Ack, I've been horrible about keeping this blog up to date.  Sorry.  It's just that I often think I'm going to incorporate something cute Evie says into a blog post on mama gaga, but then it never happens, and then it's not documented anywhere!

So, with that said here are a few that I happen to still remember, so I'm documenting them now!

Lately, Evie's been doing a lot of bending down, cocking her head to one side and asking questions, especially to Aaron.  Well, the other day, the nanny took her to the park to feed ducks and just bent down to get on the duck's level, twisted her head to the side and asked "Yaya, ni du zhi hai eh ma?" (Duck, are you still hungry?)

This is not a lion

Eddie was sleeping (and snoring), so I used this opportunity to teach Evie about snoring.

Her response?

"Zhe ge bu shi lion" - This is not a lion.

Then she ran away.

Hahahahaha  :)

Daddy Help Mommy Poo

The 3 of us were looking in the mirror making funny faces.  I filled my cheeks with air and Eddie squeezed it out by squishing my cheeks, creating a "poooo" sound.

Evie apparently liked that particular face because she then said "Dada bang mama poo" - Daddy help mommy poo :)

Doggy Butt

Over the weekend, our friends brought their corgi over to our house to play.  I didn't know that corgis don't have tails and neither did Evie.

Evie puts her hands out to chase the dog and grab his tail.

"Woo woo wei ba"  (Doggy tail)

Upon discovering he has no tail...

"Woo woo pi pi" (Doggy butt)

And proceeded to chase the dog, trying to grab his butt.

Bugs looking at dogs

First, the back story.  Evie often goes for walks around the neighborhood, and when she does, she sees lots of dogs, whether they're dogs taking walks also or dogs that are looking out the windows of their house or through the fences of their backyards.

The other day, there was a spider on the wall in Evie's room and she said

"Tsong tsong zhou lu.  Tsong tsong kan woo woo" which translates to "Bug is walking.  Bug sees dogs"

Yes Evie, the bug is taking a walk in your room and looking for puppies :)

It's raining, it's pouring...

A few weeks ago, it was raining outside.  While Evie stood staring out the window, she said

"Wai mien xia yu.  Wai mien si si.  Bu ke yi tsu chu." which means "It's raining outside.  It's wet outside.  We can't go outside"

That's a pretty darn complicated thought process and I was really impressed with her ability to put together those sentences.  Then she added

"VeeVee tsa tsa" which means "Evie wipe", as in she wanted to take a towel and wipe up the rain so that she could play outside.  Silly girl!

ps - please forgive my pingying.  it's been a long time and i'm sure i've butchered it, but you get the idea...
